30 people from all over the world coming together for a Thanksgiving ‘ghetto-gether’. We all arrived with a special dish to share and something to give thanks for. This event, organised by Edible Europe and Salotto Rosso was really something special – particularly for us Europeans who don’t usually get to indulge in the Thanksgiving festivities!
Here are a selection of just a few of the dishes from the event. The show stopper was a foot high layer cake made by Amanda from Nomzilla Cupcakes. It had three different layers – pumpkin, coconut cream and lemon chiffon. We were so excited to get stuck in that we forgot to take the photo but you can check it out (along with many others) on the Edible Europe blog post. You’ll also find most of the recipes posted there.
Mara and I made our sexy veggie burgers (pictured below). Not your traditional Thanksgiving fare but representative of the many things that we are thankful for this year – La Dolce Eater, our soon to be published e-book (7 Days of Superfoods on a Budget) and above all else our friendship. If you’re wondering how a veggie burger can represent all that, all I have to say is trial and error in perfecting a recipe can be a beautiful thing!
We love the ‘ghetto-gethers’ organised by Edible Europe and the next one can’t come soon enough!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What are you thankful for this year?
